Question Goodbye, S2000

After 4 years of blissful S2000 ownership, I have finally traded her in and picked up something a little more practical: a 2005 Element... Kinda like trading in the trophy wife who can't cook, doesn't clean, and spends all your money for someone a little more... useful

I think the S2000 is one of the most beautiful, well designed and engineered cars on the market today (certainly for the price and performance), and I look forward to owning a new one again in a few years. Until then, I plan to get out a explore a lot more of the Pacific Northwest than I could with the S... So, if anyone is up for some hiking or backpacking, let me know!

I haven't been to Azteca in a while, but I hope to still get over there occasionally. I'll still be lurking around here, too.

Happy driving!

I just test-drove an Element. I was totally planning on buying it, but then I just couldn't make myself pay $25K for a car I enjoy driving less than the one it would replace (my beat up 1991 CRX with 175000 miles). Even though the Element is more practical for the same things I use the CRX. I'll probably end up buying one in the end, but I think I'll look around for something used.

Well, there's your problem... I paid $21,000 including tax, title, fees, and etching registration for a spankin' new 2005 EX w/manual transmission (15 miles on the odo). I looked at buying a used one, but they have only been out since 2003, and there isn't a whole lot of depreciation since then.

If you are interested, I can refer you to the sales guy I dealt with at Lynnwood... He was a little annoying at times, but I feel like I got a very reasonable deal.

Thanks, liggy...

I don't have a spiffy company car

I could have, but now my payments are less than half and my insurance goes down almost 25%. I thought about having both, but there's only one spot in the garage and I don't really need both Maybe I could just rent the S when I need it...

company car = best thing ever for free

I think the Element is cool. Almost too nice to go hiking in (i'd be afraid to park it at most trailheads these days )

Payments less than half and insurance down 25% Nice!

I think the element is weird, but I think the design of the interior is pretty smart. Looks durable and easy to clean.
