Default Help Needed on Remove and Replace

Hello S2K Members,

I would like to return my car back to stock. Currently the list of goodies on my car includes:

NX Kit (installed for show, never use)
Comptech Supercharger
Comptech Header
Comptech Exhaust

I would love to get al this done over the weekend if I could. I have just two small problems that perhaps the community can help me out with. I do not own any tools to perform such work, nor do I have the space to perform said task. I horrible at estimating how long such endeavor would take and I have not clue what sort of gremlins will pop up as I bought the car with all the aftermarket items mentioned above.

Ideally I would like to do all the work myself, but due to the problems I mentioned above, I contacted a friend’s mechanic and he gave me a quote of $680 to perform the remove and replace procedures, however I still need to gather all the OEM parts.

I have seen a few OEM airbox intake manifolds and stock exhausts on craigslist, headers are hard to come by though. Any of you guys happen to have your stock header lying around collecting dust?

As a side note, any of you guys have the tools and space to help me do the work mentioned above? I can compensate with beer, pizza and a bit of cash. The only drawback with having the mechanic do the work is I can’t work on the car alongside with him (due to liability issues). I’m a bit hands on, so I want to be doing the work too.

Please PM me if you could help with either remove and replace or if you have the OEM parts I need…thanks.

There is a stock air box and exhaust header sitting in my garage that will suit your needs.

While I have the space, tools, and expertise to help you out, I simply don't have the time at this point in the race season. Let me know if you fail to find any options.

If your willing to drive to the lakewood area i can get you in a full service shop, with several lifts, and almost every tool in the book.. the rate is $4-8 an hour to rent a bay,.

I could help you with some of the labor, such as the intake, headers, exhaust but you would have to remove the sc etc.. lmk if your interested.. PM me for the details

PM replied.

The one gotcha will be a crank pulley tool. Make sure you have access to one of those before starting your work.

Is that for removing the supercharger?

I'd consider helping you out, I've been interested in acquiring a CT header. But as luck would have it I'm already committed with helping another member with a similar project. Shoot me a PM in a few weeks if you haven't got something squared away and we can talk.

Its actually not needed to remove, so no you do not need the special crank pulley tool. You can remove the CT portion of the pulley via Allen wrench. Leave the modified OEM pulley in place. Unless there is some other unknown reason to remove it with one that isn't tapped. Save yourself an unnecessary headache.

.... the removed kit is worthless w/o the modified pulley.

Any local machine shop can provide the tap with the CT pulley as a stencil for $50-$75, Its cake for them, I had one done. The next purchaser has to remove their pulley anyway, it saves the seller a step. Its another option for the OP to consider.
