Default Hit & Run

Today, all in all was a good day, until I returned to my car @5:30pm. To my surprise my car was involved a hit & run. Some @sshole clipped my front bumper when turning in the parking garage for Gameworks & Loews Meridian 16 on 7th Ave, and ripped the damn thing apart. Black paint all across the front driver side, a silver dollar sized hole torn in the bumper, and my brand new front spoiler was cracked, had black paint all over it, and ripped from the bumper. After my 30 second, loud rage I thought maybe some jerk driving a SUV or truck hit and didn't notice it. Then, I noticed the tire burnout on the pavement just inches form my bumper.

Obviously this @sshole got stuck to the bumper a bit, and peeled out. The tread pattern was way too narrow to be that of a truck or SUV. However, with Progressive being a great insurance company, they offered to assist right away. I get $30/day for a rental and body shop of my choice. They have preferred body shops locally, and recommended I go there since the work done is guaranteed for life. However, I thought I'd pool you guys and see what places you might recommend. There doesn't appear to be any panel damage and drives just fine. Aesthetically, though it looks like it got bitch slapped HARD. I only had the front spoiler on 5 days, F_CK! Any recommendations would be appreciated.

sorry to hear that always a concern of mine as well, but what can you do?

i'd shy away from any insurance company's recommendations on a body shop. guess what? any reputable body shop guarantees the work. Guess what II? you gonna keep that car for any longer than 5 years realistically?

i'd take it to bel-red auto rebuild. check that i did not say bellevue auto rebuild although it is a great shop. at bel-red talk to rich little. he's the dude who owns the burgundy 6-series sittin on 22s. he's the proprietor of the shop.

you're going to have to be somewhat sly so that progressive covers the front spoiler. say that it is a factory part that came with the car or something to that effect. i believe most insurance policies do not cover aftermarket accessories. OEM parts are up for debate based on my experience. farmers' had my back back in the day.

to look on the bright side, your front bumper was already messed up from the IRDC racing school day.

keep me informed and feel free to give me a ring if u want to discuss in more detail.

cheers,

I say we find the individual and let Batbite take care of them That aside I took Hottie Girl (my s2k) to Bellevue Auto to have her fixed after a huge German Shepard with a death wish became part of my fender and temporary hood ornament a while back. Manish took Burloo there after someone decided to take out his front end. I was very happy with their work. Just my recommendation. Hope your baby is back on the road quickly and the a&&hole who hit it gets a giant lump of coal in their stocking.

Sorry to hear, Ethan.

Sounds like you have some good recommendations for body shops at least.

I appreciate it guys. I figure I tell the body shop the front spoiler was attached to the bumper as well. I just got off the phone w/ Progressive. The shop in Bellevue they recommend is Bodyworks Auto Re-Build off Northup Way. Anyone heard of this place? any good?

Here's their link http://www.bodyworksautorebuild.com/

You can actually see the progress of your vehicle throughout the repair process, pretty cool touch.
