I get it too but fortunately it's outweighed by positive compliments. Yesterday I had some guy in a Prelude at a stoplight complimenting my car and asking questions about it and an elementary school aged kid waiting for the bus drop his jaw, got his buddy's attention and point to my car as I drove by.

I can say I've never had an "adult" compliment me on the S2K, but plenty of kids. I did have a women say to me once "thats a cute car" so I told her it's not cute (jokingly) and her reply was "if it doesn't have a V8, it's cute".

I think with the american car owners, it's more about the fact that it's a Japanese car and with the japanese car owners it's more about wanting to run um. Then there's the last group, that are just plain old jealious

I don't get messed with as much as I get compliments from people. Even with the rice pipe, no one really bothers me. Sometimes I drive like an ass hat, so some harassment is fair. What happens more often is unattentive drivers pulling out in front of me, not checking blind spots, and all around almost hitting me. I hate that!

Roger I have gotten my fair share of douche encounters in our area with trucks… and several instances of anonymous vandalism to my car.
Allot of it is that Redneck mentality where we live. If I just want to be left alone and not have to worry about coming out to my car from the movie theater in Monroe with a pile of mud on the hood of my car, I just drive my lifted Toyota 4x4. Blend right in.

I feel your pain. Everytime I take the S for work or for a drive, I get messed with. But the Evo......no. WTH?
