Looking for advice on new rear tires...
As the subject says, I'm at the wonderful 12000 mile, my rears are almost bald limit. I have net decided whether or not I want to go a) Stay with the S02's
b) Switch to Yokohama AVS ES100's or
c) Go to another tire.
As my S2000 is my daily driver, I am not too fond of shelling out $350 a year for new rear S02's, but I have not decided if I am going to wait until my fronts need replacing as well, or just change to a different tire now.
My #1 choice for a different tire would be the Yoko's, but I was fumbling around and looked at Les Schwab, and saw their Toyo Proxes T1-S, and I was curious as to how much they were, and how they were on the S2000. I should be able to get a price from them, although they have not called me back, but I was curious whether or not anyone had any experience with the Proxes on their S2000?
Also, any other tire suggestions with prices would be appreciated. Again, this is my daily driver, and I don't need a super duper ultra grip tire, just something that is competent in both the wet and the dry.

They have a chep alternative with the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712. $78 per rear tire $67 per front.
If it's just a daily driver I'm not sure how concerned you'd be with handling performance.

I have a different approach.
I would buy another set of OEM rims, and get good all weather/rain tires mounted on those. And replace your worn S-02's with new ones.
Why I do this is because I hate the idea of having different types of tires on the fronts vs. the rears. If you have S-02's on the front, which grip great, and get less grippy tires on the rear, your rear will lose traction first when pushing the car. Every type of tire has different break away characteristics, and mixing and matching never feels just right. I drove another S w/ mixed tires, and it didnt feel as good as it does w/ all S-02's. Of course this is just my opinion and preference, I hope a track junkie/tire expert can chime in to let you know if there is any merit to what I just said.
However, having 2 sets of tires are great. You can use your S-02's only for track/auto-x and spirited driving when the weather is nice. And you can have a cheap/more rain friendly tire for daily driving. Kuhmo Ecsta 712's are like $70/tire, give you about 70% of the grip of an S-02, but are friendlier in the rain, last longer, and again MUCH cheaper.

if u rollin' on a f1 balloons 16s style, then no otha choice than to #1 stunn
if you don't be caring about the stickys that makes the snitches go yayo, then can't do no wrong fo' mankind by pickin' up a set o' es100s cuz they got nice azz tread
but if you want it all and you can ball, go with the OEM S0-2s at all fo' corners

get S-03's in 245/45-16 and slap those bad boyz on the rear ....... don't worry about the front/rear mismatch (only bites you when the rear sidewall are significantly softer than the fronts) you'll be fine w/ this set-up. S-03's take about a thousand mile to "scrub-in" fully but after all the parting compound is worn off, they work great for both wet and dry conditions......... they wear significantly longer than the stock S-02's too ....... Bonus!
