Thumbs down MEET: NW Honda/Acura Meet April 1st

Hi guys, I know you don't me but I have set up this meet and would love some parcipitation from you fine fellows at s2ki. Currently this meet is posted on 7+ forums; even more local import shops and honda/acura dealerships. LeMay has room for ~300 Cars and I would love to fill it with the local honda/acura community.

List of Forums invited.

LeMay requests that all meet attendees try to arrive between 12:15 and 1:15 as one of the "head honchos" plans on giving us all a presentation. Also looks that we might have some vendors (If not then next year ), and a actual race car or two showing up.

The LeMay museum is a not for profit entity. The Museum tour is WELL worth the $10.

More then anything the museum is Extremely excited to have the "tuner crowd" (their words not mine) hold a meet on their property. They would love to diversify from the normal patrons that visit and hold meets at the Museum. Remember, what's new now is future Classic Cars

They have brought in 10 volunteers to aid in parking and being tour guides. The meet will be awesome, but I bet you that the tour will be just as cool if not more

Also for you thief shy people. The Museum grounds and parking are covered by security camera's any foul play or asshattery will be dealt with.

In the Satellite image you can see the Big green field. That is where the meet will happen. The Green and red Buildings are the Museum.

You are probably making an inverse assumption. Please take a moment to consider the content of my reply.

I've owned 11 different Hondas but that doesn't mean I'm going to spend a few hours standing in a parking lot talking to your proto-typical Honda-Tech.com member. I applaud your efforts but I would be remiss without pointing out a potential problem related to demographics. According to a unscientific survey of s2ki.com members conducted in 2004, the average age of a board member is 31. My entirely subjective personal experience with general import meets would place the average attendee below the legal age to consume alcoholic beverages.

What's my point here? Well it actually is not meant to be hostile so please hear me out. This meet is currently presented in a manner which probably doesn't appeal to the vast majority of the local membership. If you could provide more information that could in any way assuage preconcieved notions and highlight the attractive factors behind this meet, I have no doubt that you'll garner a number of attendees from this board.

I hope this reply helps!

PS Having alcohol available is the single most attractive inducement. It certainly doesn't have to be free, but if there is a bar nearby it will quickly turn the tide.
