Default Moving to Washington for work?

Hey guys,

Gonna be finishing post secondary soon.
I am thinking about working in Washington state (south end & west coast). I am more accustomed to living the city life in Vancouver, BC and am looking for a similar lifestyle in Washington.

I will be working in the Puyallup area.
Where would you recommend housing?
Which places are less/more safe than others?

I have been told Federal Way is a good option but I haven't been there before.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

"living the city life" and "Puyallup" shouldn't appear in the same post together

yeah...im with RT on that one puyallup is nice in some areas but overall nothing close to vancouver. To be honest the closest to Vancouver BC, (if you mean't the downtown area) is going to be Seattle but if you're looking for more of the nicer quiet side then its going to be the kirkland/redmond/juanita bay area only problem with that is you're going to have to travel about 40min or so with traffic to get to puyallup.
I live and grew up in federal way, its not a bad area but not a upscale urban area either..think more along the lines of a place people live with a mall-ish and thats about it

hope that helps hah

A friend of mine has a business in Lakeland. New development and pretty nice. Easy access to Puyallup and not too far from Seattle.

Good luck though Ken! Make sure you get a bigger place so us Vancouver guys have a place to crash if we head down for a drive!

"City" life would leave you to choose from Belltown, Capitol Hill, or downtown Bellevue... enjoy the hour+ commute each way.

I suppose downtown Tacoma might pass; that's a lot closer.
