Ron got a similar ticket a few months back, went to fight it, & lost. Now he's got his on the front of his car & is trying to get me to put the front plate on my car (when it comes in)... I don't wanna!

Is this city police or state patrol?

Ron's was from a cop in downtown Seattle. And yes, Ron's as white as a white boy can get - also in work clothes, driving a Miata rather than a S2K...

FWIW, I've never gotten a ticket for it and haven't mounted the front plate on any of my 23,154 vehicles I've had in the past 7-8 years... maybe cuz I bat my eyelashes at the cops?

ben,

if i have to put on a plate, might as well be as jdm as it can be... of course, the tru jdm style would have the plate mounted off to the side, but who in their right mind would want to drill two holes into the bumper right above the right faux vent? to relocate a plate? bizare... its still much cleaner w/o a plate. but $101 tickets is mighty pricey to roll clean... at least the plate bracket thing will help to direct air to the radiator (need at least some form of benefit from that thing, right??? )

andrew,

i got my ticket in the city. des moines police. going to meet the gf to take her out to lunch, and i get pulled over. you kno, they have stings set up so that a cop dressed in regular clothes crosses the street and if the cars dont stop when the cop is waiting to cross, they get pulled over and handed a ticket. talk about nothing to do except make money for the city...
