Default North Cascades

Hi, I have been wanting to drive the North Cascades Highway ever since it opened this season, and plan on going there this Friday. For anyone in the Pac NW that has not done it, it is a must as it is a very scenic drive. I plan on going this Friday, July 13th (my 28th birthday) and anyone with an s2k is invited to come along if they are interested. Depending on if anyone else ends up going and where they would be coming from, we could determine a place to meet and time. If I cannot get anyone to go along, I am also open to a drive to Mount Rainer or possibly even as far as Mt St. Helens (I live in Mill Creek, WA--near Everett).
As for the time, I have plans for an evening bbq so I will be leaving fairly early in the morning--probably around 7 am.

I usually work weekends, so I will probably be going even though I will more than likely be going by myself. It can get a little busy and you are more likely to get stuck behind a line of cars and rvs, but it is still an awesome drive regardless.

Not sure which way your going, but if you take highway 530 thru Arlington to Darrington, then from Darrington to Hwy 20, it adds more views and its actually a shorter drive. Highly recommended route

I ended up leaving just after 230 AM to catch a sunrise. It was cloudy and there was intermittent thunder and lightning on the way over there, but I did manage to get one picture that turned out alright.
