Hire a lawyer, he will take it off easily especially since its her first, Michael Sheehan is currently handling my 2nd degree negligent, never tried him before but I've heard good things, his number is: (425) 452-3410.

$350 is standard for the Lawyer to fight it and keep off your record, though as they will tell you there is still no guarantee, but Ive used them 3 times and got off all 3 times so my experiences has been favorable. I would definitely take advantage of the first time offense deferment option, and pay what ever fee/ take class and call it good. If you get a ticket after this, then do the lawyer option.
See you all next week!

Select mitigation hearing, as was stated above and then find out about the "deferral". You can seek out the information online. Unless you decide to fight the ticket, a lawyer is completely unnecessary.
Here's a link to "Douglas County", I am sure the exact same applies to other counties. My first ticket was in Skagit County, so I ended up going to court in Mount Vernon. I didn't have to do barely any talking at all, and just had to wait twenty minutes or so for the judge to get through other people first.

You know she gets a lot of notoriety and praise, but ironically the one time I tried her for a speeding ticket (her office is literally 1 min down the street from where I work) She wasn't able to get it completely dismissed like the guy I used previously the other two times, she got it reduced to a "driving wile on cell phone" charge, which is stupid considering I wasn't using one, it was just a trick to a plea bargain for a lessor non driving mark on the insurance, but it ended up costing me a $200 fine on top of her $350. Not sure if id use her again
