Default Not again!

I took my car in for the TSB0054 repair yesterday. Yesterday evening my passenger side window got stuck in the down position. So back in it goes tomorrow.

Since I bought the car used with 8000 mi from Acura of Bellevue: 1. The remote door locks and alarm system was broken when I drove it off the lot (but worked in the show room). 2. A bad sensor caused hesitation when accelerating above VTEC. 3. A blown fuse 4. I had TSB0045 done. 5. Now my passenger window is dead.

That's 4 trips to have the car fixed in 4 months. (including tomorrows trip; I replaced the fuse myself)

To Hondas credit, everything has been fixed under warranty with no hastle and I've been very happy with the service from Kirkland Honda. But damn! When's it going to end?

Here's the situation on the window thing. I put the top down to drive it off the lot after the TSB0054 repair. The passenger window went down automatically. Later that evening I put the top up and attempted to raise both windows. The driver went up, the passenger is dead. No electrical switch click, no motor noise, dead. I checked both power window fuses. They both look ok, switched them, no change. Any suggestions?

I understand that you are getting great service, and that may be enough for you, but I would consider looking in to the lemon law for your state. It depends on how many fixes and how much time the car was at the dealership getting repaired and a few other factors. Thats one way to get a 02 s2k, if you are deserving....

I may be wrong, but I think the lemon law only works if it is in the shop four times, for the same problem, within a year. Not positive, but I think that's how the law is in Oregon.

That's gotta be getting pretty anoying - death by a thousand paper cuts.

BTW, this probably isn't it, but the "passenger window doesn't work" problem has been posted online at least 20 times, and probably 15 of them were caused by the little kid-proof switch on the driver's door getting flipped. Just thought it was worth a mention.

Ted

p.s. Michael, keep the PIR discussion going on that other thread - I need you to help me keep some actual content flowing instead of only hype/sh!t flipping/baiting.

Uhh Ted... You know I was one of those that thought I had a broken passenger side window motor. Why the hell did they put that kill switch in there?

Yeah, it's not like you can't reach over and smack your passenger upside the head if they're playing with the window too much...

We have a winner. You called it Ted. It's silly enough to even have that kill switch there, but to have it lock out the driver control too of the passenger side window???

Feelin kinda stupid after posting about it, but not half as stupid as if I took the car in and all they did was flip the damn swtch! But, hey, what are these boards for, right?

Holy crap, this is too funny! I am not going to make fun (since I discovered the lockout switch on my own) but I must say that I am surprised at how many people fall victim to the wrath of the lock-out switch! lol! BTW, I don't think that this will help on the lemon law scenario!

I'm the reason they have "idiot lights". There's no such thing as "idiot proof" when I'm around. Give me a door crank, power windows are a little beyond my comprehension.

There, that should do it.
