Default Pacific GP discussion thread

http://www.pacificgp.com/

Construction has made sufficient progress they are opening to the public this weekend.

The price schedule looks rather egregious. More than double for the 9hp Karts at Sykart.
12 minute sessions
1 Session $25.00
2 Sessions $45.00
3 Sessions $65.00
And a "Recreational License" is a prerequisite.
- Daily Recreational License: $10.00
- Annual Recreational License: $50.00

However, they have programs for Groups of 6/8/10 and for Enduro's. Pricing works out to $50 - 100 per head.

Since their equipment is brand new, this might be a good option for a group kart racing day. I'm looking for three kinds of feedback to this thread:

1) Folks that are interested in attending a group event at the facility.
2) Folks that would be interested in a scouting day and doing a couple runs at the facility.
3) Those of you who have already driven at the facility and have feedback to share.

Here is Video of Toshi driving at Pacific GP on 5/9/2009:

Especially when you factor in the hotel/4 hour drive/RT's "unsafe lane change" and other non-trivial incidentals.

A further bonus, is that their equipment will be in new condition. If you remember the Karts at Pat Acres were in fairly bad shape. Worse still since I had three seperate karts fail on me in one hour. I for one, definitely welcome the opportunity to drive on fresh equipment at a new track.

For historical reference, Mike is referring to a series of yearly events we held at Pat's Acres:

I still can't believe Ray and Russ didn't end up in jail.

Hey, looking through that old thread, I see that Jason Fiarito was promising a kart track at Pacific Raceways by summer 2007. Guess he was only a couple of years late.

With the exclusion of the jail part.
