Thus, if you can time things such that you're shifting only once you're certain that you'll clear the point, you can breath the steering to get the shift done without unsettling the car, and then crank in a bit more steering once you've shifted.
That's what I started doing.

CB,

I don't have much time in the S2000 at PIR. I'm sure you're correct about the gearing, especially with tires that are less than 2 years old. 2nd gear was just awkward, but I wasn't quick enough at the apex to hold 3rd. Overall, I was not familiar enough with the S at high speeds. And I really wasn't pushing the car very hard after I broke the sway bar bracket!

I do believe that, even in a stock S, T12 is a 3rd gear corner when driven properly. You should be in the sweet spot (6 - 6.5k) at the apex.

Hi Andy. I figured as much -- and it's purely a matter of seat time. As for T12, it's just an awkward corner in the S2K. But if you think it falls into a hole in terms of gearing, you should try it in a 5-speed NSX or C-5 Vette. In both cars, you almost have to shift to FIRST, they're geared so tall.
