I was pulled over by the WSP several years ago for the same thing (that and not using my turn signal) and was also told it could fly around and hit me in the event of an accident. That's when I bought one of Rick's plate holders and haven't been hassled since.

I don't have a front plate and don't plan on putting one on. I just figure I'll deal with it when it happens.

I'd recommend you either put the plate on the front or keep it off the car. It looks awkward in the dash iMHO.

Cops think when you get into a heavy accident the plate might comeback at you and slices the the driver or passenger head..
Imagine your airbags going off and firing the plate at you at a few hundred mph. I'm fairly confident that if it hit you at the right angle it could kill you.

The air bag would deploy faster than the plate would move back to hit you. So the air bag would actually deflect it, not accelerate it's speed.

But I've had the front plate on my Prelude in the window sence I bought it. Never been hassled for it. My friend has been hassled for it ALOT in his DSM.

Good to hear we have an automotive crash test expert here.

You never know WHAT could happen when a car gets hit... Ive seen some bizarre ass shit in my time.
