Sweet! How much faster would I get there? Hear my VTAK ROAR!!! It looks like I might have an SUV lined up, although I don't know if I'll be able to pass up on taking the S just to see the many blank expressions on peoples faces

Im pretty sure the lack of the hoods presence would direct a LOT more air onto the engine and radiator LOL

I would be more worried about it starting to rain or something else falling into the engine bay. I have a couple friends that have done this same thing without hassle from police so if it is illegal, maybe it's not a big deal?

Eh, engines are waterproofish. I wouldn't sweat it.

I'm reading section 46 of the RCW right now, and so far I don't see anything re: no hood = illegal.

Gah.

http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=46.37.517

46.37.317 gets you, but outlines zero penalties for failure to adhere to the law.

(2) The hood, hood latches, hood fastenings, doors, and door latches shall be maintained in a condition sufficient to ensure proper working equal to that at the time of original vehicle manufacture.

Hmm... I could probably get away with it. Doesn't look like I'm gonna get it now though. For some reason every Silverstone I see seems to be a little darker then mine. I'd hate to drive all the way out there and find out that the hood isn't close to matching. Then I'd have to drive back with no hood.
