Rear End Question
No replies from proctologists either! ;-)
Coming from a Jeeping background, I know to worry about axles and drivelines, R&P etc. Anybody know what kind of L.S.D. is the rear end of an '02 S2K? Has anybody ever had problems with drivetrain breakage?
The other day I got on it at a stoplight and there was a bit of a rise in the middle of the intersection and the rear end got light and spun a bit while still under power. Assuming the drivetrain is built for abuse, this should not be an issue.. I just thought I would ask you guys.

Ray should be a good person to talk to...he hasn't been nice to rear diffs in the past. 
The LSD is a Torsen. I believe (and I could get hammered for this) that it is the same as the one on the Miata.

I guess I will hear the horror stories tonight at Azteca. For the most part, my question was answered.. I was not sure if it was an Auburn, a Torsen (Gotta love the name :-) or whatever.
I have noticed by my tire marks, the rear end DOES spool up and lock when needed which is cool. I just did not know what was back there.

In your case, I would say you're fine. If you're doing 9000rpm clutch drops, you might wind up like others here at S2ki. Then again, some guys do this all the time with this car and have been fortunate.

When I first bought mine, I did a mild drop from 6K and the tires did not break loose, and the clutch definitely spun. (Not to self, do not do that again). Maybe the tires were warm, I dunno.
After seeing the S2K porn flicks, Jerry can break them loose without a problem and this was before the blower. I guess I will just not push it.

From looking at the driveline, I can see nothing designed to cushon the shock of high rpm clutch drops. To me that means that something has to give.( trans, clutch, driveshaft, diff, etc) I feel that this car was designed for the track, not the dragstrip.
