Haven't you seen Fast and the Furious?? J/K :-)

I am not quite sure what you are talking about as far as something to "cushion". From the tranny, you have a driveline which ends up at the rear diff (weak LSD from what I have heard recently), which ends up at axles, and then ends up at wheels. The only soft spot in that equasion is a clutch and as Jerry pointed out, that is why he sticks with stock (same in my Jeep for the same reason BTDT).

Can you elaborate?

What do you guys use for an additive for the rear differential fluid? I have seen three Jeep (GC) diffs destroyed due to oil changes at "Jiffy" in the rear diffs without a LSD additive. I still only have 2K miles on my S2K and plan to do that kind of service myself... Maybe I am old school.

All replies appreciated!

You're too young to be old school...

I can't remember the LSD stuff I used with my ARBs, but I can go look out in my big Tupperware box and see if I still have any of it and get the name for ya...if that'll help...?

I have been building my own diffs for 4 years now :-) Why change? I have a feeling the LSD additive is different than an ARB though?

ARBs required LSD fluid, actually. Something to do with the silly complexity of the darned things...

I love the term, "this is not a drag car", I don't know of any cars built today that are designed for drag racing from the factory. Only a couple cars in history that I have heard of that were designed for drag, '64 Fairlane Thunderbolt 427, and some Mopar thing. I believe we are talking 10's out of the box, too bad they only made like 12 of them.

Drag racing is a sport intended to let people bring all types of cars too, not the other way around. Sportsman class points winner at SIR in 2000 was won by a Ford F150 Ext Cab 4 x 4, now we are talking about a factory Drag racer!

I recently quit the drag racing thing as it was very hard on the car (CRX), but the road course days are probably just as abusive to the car, just in different areas, and is more money to keep on the track as far as parts go.

After seeing the S2K porn flicks, Jerry can break them loose without a problem and this was before the blower.
