the valve noise will often times sound like a pattern so you can use this technique even w/ multiple rockers out of adjustment. just count the freq of the entire pattern. try it out, it's easier then you might think to tell the diff between 15 Hz and half that.

i have to agree with lig it just got a bit technical but i think i got it. lets see how good i'm at hearing differences today. (not normally my good trait) thanks for the advice everybody.

there's a knob on your radio, i think it's the volume control, that usually gets rid of the ticking noise.

haha thats if the stereo was loud enough to actually overcome ambient noises.

If there is a tapping sound from the cyl head, the valve adjustment should be checked , but also the vtec rocker assys inspected for wear, if the rocker assys have excess wear you will have a tapping/rattling from the rocker assys as well.
