Default S2K MPG

Mrs. pepperoni and I are looking at used S2000's (2002-2004). If driven at a average pace, what would you expect to see for MPG? Lastly, how big is the fuel tank?

Thank youz.

Somewhere just over 12 gallons the car will start to sputter.

"Driven at an average pace" is pretty meaningless, though. MPG can be anywhere from high 20s to <10. I expect that around town most people end up getting low 20s.

With my lead foot, my '01 gets around 21 on average. That's about 70% street driving. Mostly to work and home, roughly 7 miles each way.

I've tried driving it very gingerly and haven't really improved the MPG much (maybe 22). I suspect that it's because my route is still largely stop-and-go.

I have gotten as high as 28 MPG doing a straight freeway run from here to Portland.

A tank of gas is good for about 1-1.5 weeks for me. I usually get somewhere from 220-250 miles between fill ups.

Highway on a full tank I've gotten 300 miles. Very good for a sports car.

I'm still researching the car as you can probably tell. I'm not new to sports cars, but I am new to this site. From the looks of it, I already know a few of you in here, so thanks again for the replies.

A co-worker has a (sorry for the politically-incorrect color name) 'dark silver' 2004 and she brought it in today so I can check it out up close and take it for a spin at lunch. It's the exact car and color we want.

I wonder if she'll let me hit VTEC..
PS. What RPM is VTEC with the 2.2L?

i get around 18-21 in the city, and about 28-30 on the hwy. i have seen 32mpg once. if you keep you foot out of it, the s2k actually gets decent gas milage for a sports car.

as far as vtec engaugement. when i was running stock, i noticed the vtrec vaired from 5950 to 6120. i just have to guess that it has to do with TPS, load. but what do i know.
