SEA: 20% off all OEM parts at Lynnwood Honda
i went in there yesterday to buy some honda oil (didn't have any in stock...so just bought some Castrol) and noticed a sign that says 20% off all OEM parts...or something similar...so i ask if the s2000 hardtop is included...the parts guy wasn't sure so he said he'd call me the next day (today)...get a call today, and the hardtop IS included...so that's $2995 list - $599 discount = $2396 + $100 shipping + 222.14 tax (8.9% up here) = $2718.14
good deal or not??? that's cheaper than H and A...for a sebring silver that is... i believe is $2790 from trevor.
i'm wondering if tax can be included in the shipping price like how they quoted??? i'm thinking they can't??? so it should be 2396+213.24+100=2709.24 save me about $9...haha...
the parts guy (his name is michael) says the sale ends this saturday. i'm gonna call up bellevue honda...the guy i bought my s2000 from...and see if they can meet or beat this... oh, they said delivery would be in about 3 weeks.
any and all input (as usual) is welcome and extremely appreciated!!! figured a hardtop is a necessity in the seattle rain... at least it can provide shelter for the soft top during the autumn, winter, and early spring.

I don't see how it's a necessity being that you do have a top. But that sounds like a good deal, my friend. Maybe you can round up some people here and get a deeper discount. Good luck.

Yeah, like I keep saying, the soft top isn't made of Brawny paper towels; it's made to be used in the rain. If fact, that's the only time it should be used.
Get the hardtop if you really like it, not because you think the car won't survive without it. That does sound like a good deal if it includes installation (although that's pretty easy with an '02).

i wish that was the price including installation...too bad installation is $72/hour at lynnwood honda...and i bet they'd take something like 6-8 hours to install it. naw, i was plannin on installing it myself...
yeah, i want the hardtop...the rain excuse was just that, an excuse...kinda helps me to justify spending $3k on a piece of aluminum...hahaha...

oh, if anyone else wants in, i'll ask if we can get a group deal!

I read somewhere on this board that the dealers pay something like $2290 for the top. People were negotiating prices around $2800 installed. I very well could be wrong as it is just word of mouth.

yeah...so $2396 for the top isn't that bad at all...its the shipping and tax that drives this baby up high...so $2800 installed would be about $3158 after taxes and shipping up here in the north seattle area...

Here is what you should do.
Print the ad for 20% off, and call a dealer in Oregon that will honor the discount. If so, order it from the OR dealer and you just saved yourself a few hundred.
