Default Seattle and surrounding area

Way off the beaten topic path?... Without a doubt.

But I kinda feel like I need to say. I've posted in this area of this forum before, and at the time I mentioned that I had bought/did/was in the Spokane area of Washington.

To my suprise I had a couple of people tell me I was in the A-HOLE of Washington. And seeing their NICS they were in the Seattle or surrounding area...

Although I've been to all the coast areas of the US, I had not been to your special Seattle area until just the last few weeks... And I have to tell ya guys, I'm just not seeing it.

For all the boasting and clammering Seattle this Seattle that... Geeesh.

Bad urban planning surrounded by a city which is WAY over priced for what your getting.

Christ, I though living in Toronto & New York City was bad. Spokane maybe the A-Hole of Washington, but Spokane only claims to be just what it is., a small city with alot of nice people.

Seattle is got way too much bark for the size of it's bite.

I'm happy YOUR happy to be living there, but give me a break.

Flame away... Just an east coaster's view

Actually it's "YOU'RE".

Anyways, I kinda missed the point of that post.

I have been to many big cities around the world: San Francisco, Portland, L.A., Denver, NYC, Chicago, St. Louis, Vancouver, Dallas, Paris, London, Seoul, Tokyo, Dublin ... and I can honestly say that Seattle is one of my favorites. Sure, I may be a little biased because I live here, but I think Seattle has a lot to offer. It's really a great place.

To each his/her own ...

You want to see a crappy place to live? Go to the Tri-Cities.

Clammering? Do you mean clamming? We've got some great areas where one can dig clams.

If you didn't care much for Seattle then it appears you have chosen to live on the right side of the state for your tastes.

You didn't happen to get a "job" recently from the mayor, did you?

i totally agree with you, seattle is WAY over priced for what your getting ..... it's hard enough finding even a small house or townhome on a single income. but i still like it here. admit it we have nice summers here.

Any metro area is going to be expensive to live if there is the income base to support it.

You want affordable living, go on the other side of the sound.

With the exception of Bainbridge, which was just voted the second best place to live in the US for some insane reason, everything else in the Kitsap County area is very affordable.

35 minutes on a boat ride that you can sleep through and you're in Seattle.

Personally, I do like Spokane, to visit, I was stationed out there for a few years but I couldn't live there.

Richland scares me.

I prefer to stay clear of a city that has a mushroom cloud for a high school mascot.

Spokane? - I like it. Great golf and decent food. Excellent cost of living vs. Seattle.

Wouldn't want to live there though.

The Bombers!

Yeah, I lived right above Richland HS for 2 1/2 years.

The whole place just blows. Things close at 6PM on a Saturday night.

But, if you think Richland is bad, you should visit El Pasco...

Not that I'm a racist or anything, there just isn't much being done there to show a good image of Latino immigrants. I'm not sure why, I've been to several areas of Mexico and even in the poverty stricken areas the majority of the people still take pride in what they have. But when they get here, I'm not sure what happens.

This damn American laziness is spreading like a plague.

Personally I'm not a big fan of any of the Tri-Cities but hey... I need to get some bidness from them so I will refrain from further comment...
