Default Sick and tired of ...

I spend a lot of time on the net in a lot of forums and I spend a lot of time talking with people from all generations and walks of life.

About 90% of them bitch and moan about politics. About how this guy is stupid or that gal is lame or how this one is a liberal and that one is a conservative or how the government is all messed up and nobody knows what they are doing...

I got sick and tired of all the sick and tired people

I asked every one of them, "Why don't you do something about it then?"

None of them ever do and they are perfectly content being unhappy about it all.

Well, I decided to do something about my government. I filed my Declaration of Candidacy with my county auditor and I'm running for office.

Port of Eglon District No. 4 - Port Commissioner District 3.

It's not much, but it's a start.

Did you know that most of these smaller local offices run unopposed? Last year we had a water district that had NO CANDIDATES. WTF?

People bitch and moan about politics but they keep electing the same people over and over again because nobody will run against them.

Anyone can run for office, it's easy and so far, I've had a lot of fun doing it.

I made the local paper:
http://www.pnwlocalnews.com/kitsap/kin/new...n/47323702.html

Put up a campaign site:
http://www.croman.us

I'm ordering post cards to mail out to all my precinct voters. I'll be ordering signs and buttons and I'm having my photos done tomorrow for the bio in the Voter's Guide.

I'm interviewing with a reporter next week...

The 3 commissioners in Eglon have never done a bio or posted a website, they've never made a public statement. One guy that's been there for 3 terms (that's 18 years!) has never filed a document with the county in his position. NONE! in 18 YEARS! The only document that shows up for him in a public records search with the county is his oath of office!

Anyway, just thought some of you may be interested in this. It's been a blast so far and I'm only 1 week into it.

I don't think people should focus on "rocking the vote", I really think more average everyday working stiffs should run for office.

Anyway, if any of you feel like endorsing my candidacy, feel free to fill out the online form on my campaign site and I'll put your name on the list.

I urge all of you to check with your local elections office and find out what offices are open or have incumbents running unopposed in your community. Many of them are unpaid and require 1 evening a month to serve which means you don't have to pay to file, it's free!

Yes, and oddly enough, I had to claim my association with the Jolly Rogers since I'm an elected officer in the club and it's an LLC in the State of Washington.

The PDC process is kinda weird but they are really easy people to deal with and are very helpful.

Do I have to live there to vote against you?
