I called Convertibles Only and will be going there this afternoon. They said it would take about an hour, cost about $70. Seattle location only - Bellevue is aparently the boss' house, used for drop-offs on the east side.
My top was slashed on Dec 24 in the parking lot by Sears on 148th in Bellevue, not Sammamish. Broad daylight, lots of people around. WTF????
Repaired at "Convertibles Only" for $45.00 (plus tax) same day in under 1/2 hour - I did not even have time to read the "Classic Convertibles" books in the office.
I have a scar (see photo - it looks worse in the photo than it actually is). It looks like a rain drip. Not perfect but it works for me - it does not leak and you cannot see the damage when the top is down ,. Vinyl patch on the inside, silicone over the outside. And guaranteed, unlike Ray's offer (Ta, man!).
Les is great guy!! Loves convertibles. Tell him Don sent ya. He does great things with classic cars and can repair or replace even horribly slashed tops. Ask him about the father & son weddings in the MG. And check out the 1959 Mercury he's doing. Wow! I know or drove many of these "Classic Convertibles".
BTW, apparently the S2000 was one of the first cars to have the revolutionary vinyl top that is textured like fabric. Expect more for other cars and expect after-market tops soon (if not already).
