Default soft top replacement

I'm looking for a recommendation for who/where/how for a soft top replacement in Portland OR. I have a 2001 with the original top and would like to get a new top with glass window. Would love to hear your thoughts and/or experiences. I'm new to S2Ki so maybe there are previous threads that I haven't found yet; if so, feel free to point me in the right direction.

Get a hardtop.

Rains too much in the NW for softop. I'm moving back to Seattle from SoCal and I sold my softop off for some cash. Won't be needing that thing much.

It's easy to replace but you're best off finding one used on this forum for $800 bucks or so in mint shape.

I weighted everything on the house scale so not super exact but came out to 128 lbs me and Konkhrm3 both did it and we weighed both and came out same on house scales.... but even at 80 lbs that still almost the equivelent of taking out both the seats so it still is the most weight saving you can do to base model s2000

Believe I weighed mine to 89lbs or something around there. In any case, substantial savings in weight even if it's not quite 130. The extra plates and molding type pieces might add some more weight. It's the primary reason I sold mine, that's a lot of savings.

It's a huge savings.

BTW, if people are looking for great fitting mugen replicas at pretty much unbeatable prices talk to me. Custom mounting hardware too

I'm planning on replacing my00 with a glass soft top in the summer myself. If you're willing to drive up here to Seattle, we can start a soft top replacement day.

how much does the hardtop weigh? so if you take the soft top off, wouldn't you just be stuck with same amount of weight from putting on the hardtop?

I'm moving to Bellevue, WA one one month!

No, it's MUCH lighter, I can pick up the softop I sell with 2 fingers, good luck doing that with the softop.

Depends on the hardtop. OEM hardtop is roughly 50 lb. that glass is heavy!
