Yea OEM is a little heavy, the one I sell is damn light in comparison to my OEM setup.

how much does the hardtop weigh? so if you take the soft top off, wouldn't you just be stuck with same amount of weight from putting on the hardtop?
OEM hardtop is only 35 lbs so essentially you dont lose a whole lot but aerodynamically and performance wise the OEM top is a must have and a win win situation for us ppl here in the NW with the weather. Plus if your a cage type of person you will enjoy putting it in without the softtop

Yea, it's much better. Still the mugen replica shape is even lighter and much more aerodynamic, though I do like the large oem window for visibility.

I actually was planning on buying the Mugen but style over comfort for me! I like have the leather head liner and the defrost plus OEM makes the cars value hold better because its an OEM part. I'm trying not to go too crazy with it just nice clean look with a few add ons!

Oh, well I'm doing the opposite.

I started with OEM when I got the car but I went Mugen for trackdays and weight savings, won't even bother painting. Though daily driving I'll keep the OEM on it as it's slightly quieter and has defrost, though the acrylic mugen window doesn't fog/ice up as badly as the OEM glass does.

I used to have my S2000 pretty far along but was tired of getting in everyday and hoping that a new problem wouldnt come about. I'm getting too old to keep modified cars up and I've already modded so many cars I feel i have had fun but time to put my focus other places or I'd keep at it cuz it is certainly fun!

I'm pulling it off topic. From the guys who have pulled out the soft top and put the oem hardtop back on; do you have a ringing pinging noise from the back hanger with the rubber bushing? Or noise in that general area? I can't seem to find where exactly after I pulled the soft top and put the plastics back in.

hmmm.. I'd have to hear it to give you an idea. Does it happen on acceleration, idle, cruising, decel?? IK without the plastics the buzz is out of your mind annoying
