Well, the first day of the weekend went pretty well. It's colder than a witch's [you know what], but except for a little ice in T10 the track was fine. Car has plenty of power but is a bit down on grip.

At lunchtime the pizza was served in Scott's trailer. Good thing he recently bought the Taj Mahal of car trailers, because mostly people managed to fit inside.

After lunch it started snowing. When it really started coming down hard, I went out for a bit just to get some video. 125 in medium-heavy snow (on slick RA1s) is pretty fun [just call me Greenie...]. After a while it started sticking enough that the car started sliding around in a very entertaining fashion. T5/6 was amusing, as it was a constant balancing act between the pedals and the steering wheel.

Eventually I needed gas (again), and the snow was starting to stick even more, so I called it a day. Dad and I took the truck back to the hotel and are now watching the NCAAs on TV. It's coming down quite hard and the forcast is for 1-3 inches accumulating overnight. Well, at least it should be easy to show the students the line tomorrow: "OK, just stay in the tracks...."

I had the video recording during the snow. Hopefully it comes out well. I forgot to put a new flash card in, though, so by the time I came off track I had filled up the memory. I'm sure I got some good laps on video, but I am bummed I don't think I got where I caught up to, then passed (in the snow) ... an Evo. Sweet! Put your 4wd in your pipe and smoke it.

And oh yeah, you guys remember Steve Cassel (Scott's friend)? He showed up driving a suzuka S2000. It's his wife's car. His verdict was that it was "loose, but fun loose".

I guess the gods of 4wd were mad because of my sacrilege. On our way back home from dinner, we hit some ice. Dad switched on the 4wd and <clunk> ... no 4wd. Something seems to be busted in his truck. Oops. Hope this doesn't end up being a big problem.

Yeah. Dad suspects one of the front locking hubs snapped. It's happened to all his other Fords.
