Tire advice and local shop
I have a 2003 with stock rims. I need to get new tires this weekend. This is my DD, so looking for a well rounded tire for the Seattle area. What is everyone happy with? Looking to keep it around $100/tire
Also on the Eastside what have your experience been with the different tire shops? Will any one match TireRack pricing?
Thanks,
Matthew

I have been running Hankook Ventus RS2 in the dry and wet weather, and love them (with the exception of the recent snow/ice of course). Got them at Discount Tire for 38x.xx out the door after pricematching edgeracing.com. Make sure they don't F'up your rims though...

Are you planning to drive in the snow? If not that RE050A is great in the dry and just fine in all other Seattle weather. It looks like TireRack is having blow-out prices on them right now too.
I usually go to Discount. Prices are a bit more than TireRack but it's worth it for the lack of hassle to me. DO NOT go to Les Schwab - that is all

Contact Russ or Marek @
http://www.ftlperformance.com
They are authorized Tire Rack installers and will do right by you Order from Tire Rack - deliver to FTL or Dependable.
I have also had great service from Tim @ http://www.dependablewheel.com/
FTL is on the Eastside and Dependable is in Renton.
Can't go wrong with either of them.

Both tires are easily out of the reach of the original poster's budget, however.
Discount Tire in Bellevue ain't bad for 18s and below. 19s should be all right. Just make sure you tell them to get someone good on the car and to not use the air gun crap.
