Default What is it worth?

I have the opportunity to purchase a long block from a 2002 S2000. It has a valve "jammed" into the walls of the head... and the minor pieces bounced around inside the cylinder. (dropped a valve).

The head would need some alluminum welding done and such... and the block would need to be bored...

What does everyone think it is worth? Or is it worth getting at all?

Thanks for the input...

Go to a boat store, and find out what a medium-sized anchor costs. That's what this engine is worth, IMO.

Seriously, I would find out what a used engine in decent shape goes for; this one is worth a good deal less than that.

My guess is that the market for blown engines is weak, and the "seller" may well be happy to give it away, so he doesn't have to pay to dispose of it.

Thats what I think too... but he seems to think that he wants an Integra rear disc swap that I have sitting in the shop. (not really worth much to me) but I sell them for $350 CDN + Install.

So I am not really sure what to do now...

Ya It's pretty much a bare block and head... really only worth something to use as a prop or "boat anchor"...

Maybe... rebuild for turbo?
