I'm guessing a community college or a convention center...

If it's in the greater Seattle area, $500 for a studio/1 bed with a garage will be damn near impossible.

The only info I could find for a WSCC was for Washington State Community College... in Ohio.

Coming to Ft. Lewis? If you are, I'd check out Dupont. Much nicer than most of Lakewood/Tacoma.

when I came to Washington I almost moved to Tacompton. My friends wouldn't let me and made me move to Seattle instead. For the price of my townhouse here I could afford a mansion a bit more south.

Yeah, his location being "currently in Iraq" seems to indicate either Ft. Lewis or McChord. Probably Ft. Lewis.

Seattle would be a miserable commute. You probably want something south or southeast of Tacoma.
