Take that thing out of program mode and get a handle on your depth of field. As mention before by other, very acomplished photographers, you need to play with your aperture. My advice is to take the camera and switch your shooting mode to anything but program. Play with Aperture priority and even manual mode if you really want to learn. Otherwise, your camera is going to do what it wants, whenever you take a picture.
Thanks man.. that seems to be the consensus. I'm pretty enthusiastic, so I'll get there eventually. I'm currently on day 2 with it.

What version of Photoshop do you have? If it's CS or CS2 I would also suggest taking your camera out of sRGB mode, switching it to Adobe RGB 1998, and shooting RAW. It's jumping into the deep end, but it's a great way to learn.

lol dont worry about it. lol Most of us i think shoot in regular jpeg. wich you can shoot, and dload and itll be a jpeg file already. Shooting in raw is gives you the ability to pretty much alter the photo anyway you want to. Read your manual and learn how to use the camera in manual mode. I use manual and jpeg. any more questions let us know

17-55mm Kit lense
10-22mm Sigma ultra wide angle lense
Infrared remote for shutter

Hopefully within the next couple of months I'll be purchasing a Meade LX200R 8" f/10 telescope for some very nice astrophotography shots $$
