ACR 3.6 Problem
Hello all. I have a weird problem going on w/ ACR 3.6. When I do a "rename a file & copy to location", the resulting created file cannot be opened with CS2. This problem just started a week ago. Before I had the problem, there would be a CR2 file along w/ the XMP file. Now the RAW file is unknown w/ the XMP file there (see below). Is ACR 3.6 a trial version?
**NOTE: Old RAW files works perfectly w/ CS2. The new RAW files that I copy from the CF card are the ones I'm having a problem with.**

I choose to rename a single file & copy to a folder.

This is a snapshot of the folder where I copied the RAW file. The XMP file is there, but the CR2 file is unknown.

This is an example of how my folder w/ RAW files use to look like. My old RAW files have been preserved & works as usual. The problem is w/ new files I copy from my CF card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey guys I figured out the problem. When renaming the file, I would change the filename to 01.04.07 (for the date). ACR 3.6 looks at that & saves the file as a .04.07 extension. It cannot create a 01.04.07.CR2 file. Sorry I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.
So if I rename the file as 010407, ACR 3.6 will create the proper 010407.CR2 & all is well. This solves the problem. Thanks for looking!!
