C&C please!
I am still using and trying to learn as much as I can on my Sony DSC-H50 point and shoot, until my D90 arrives. I am reading as many sites as I can, and really trying different things, and to learn as much as I can. I am seeing progress, and feel I am getting better, but there is still tons of room for improvement. Some of it I think will get better with the D90, but I know that wont make me a good photographer. I could use help with composition and lighting. Unfortunately all these shots were mid day in the desert, so I was stuck with that. I picked up a polarized lens for my D90, so hopefully that will help a little bit. On to the pictures, tell me what you think, is my composition really poor? How would you have shot them. I am no artist, and I see things that I want to shoot, but I struggle to come up with a way to shoot them, and convey a story, or hold a viewers intrigue. #3 I like the concept, and took 2 shots of it, just something isnt right, coloring? Also, on these shots, and I using too small of an aperature?

Don't worry, "they'll" be along. Critique isn't done haphazardly so it can take some time. Remember to number your shots thou.
Personally I like 1 and 4. 3 needs more DOF, my eyes keep getting pulled behind the focal flowers. 6 doesn't say anything to me, maybe a tighter composure?
It looks like you're going to post some great stuff when you get your D90!

1 and 6 are my favorites.. Number 6 stands out because your use of negative space creates tension which the others aside from number 1 do not have. Composition is EVERYTHING... Look at works done in black and white for instance. They do not have the benefit of bright colors to make the viewer go "wow" so they must stand on their own compositionally. Nail composition, and the rest will flow.
Aside from the above critiques don't lose that sony when you get your new camera. Unless your prepared to buy quality glass for it you may miss the sharpness that lil Sony P&S delivers.
Being a Sony P&S shooter when I just want to bang around and take potshots I will say they do get some great sharp shots.

Unforunately I had to sell the Sony, to help pay for my new camera. I do realize already that I will miss having a smaller and lighter camera to carry around. I just got the standard kit lenses for the D90 for now. Going to get as much use out of them as I can, and try to get better, then possibly look into something nicer down the road.
Thanks everyone for the critiques. My new camera arrives Thursday, and I am off work Friday, so I plan on waking up early to catch a sunset over the lake, and walk around all day shooting!!!
