I can't see the images here at work (blocked) but if it is the symbol in the upper left on their homepage then I see no issue as far as being close to the honda symbol. That same basic shape/design has been used countless times for all birds of prey. However from the reactions it sounds like you didn't change it all that much from the original (made it sharper/more angular?) so I would contact the original artist and ask them about using it and perhaps cut them a deal so you both get paid.
