Holy blow out. The first pic is not bad. The second is blown out. The third is too dark. Practice a little more with your WB and your exposures.

It looks like what happens when you shoot with a Point & Shoot and heavily do something in Photoshop. I can't explain it, but I have noticed a huge difference in how far a picture can be manipulated in Photoshop depending on whether it was shot with a D-SLR or P&S.....even with same MP cameras. I know a SLR can handle the composition better, but I figured a Mega Pixel is a Mega Pixel

Hmm...I dont know about that Alex. I have seen shots taken with PAS cameras that are BETTER than some SLRs (I know its the shooter, not the camera). I have also seen 5mpixel SLRs shoot better shots than an 8 megapixel PAS. I just think that there is WAY too much beginner photoshop use in those photos.

I'm talking about my own personal experience. I've shot pictures with a P&S camera and my SLR to find that the SLR images can be manipulated more than the P&S images before looking like something the OP posted.

I appreciate al your comments guys. here is a little more info onthe pictures. I took these pictures with a rebel xti and I didn't use photoshop with these pictures, I used a program called HP image zone, but hey editing is editing no matter what program. All i did to these photos was decrease the brightness and increase the contrast and a color filter. The last one isnt even edited just cropped. I agree i do go crazy with the contrast sometimes, but i really like the effect of how it brings out the colors.

Hey, if you like the results, that's all that matters

While I agree the first two don't really like like good photographs (realistic), they make for good digital art. I really dig the 1st one. It kind of has a digital painting look about it.
