I was using 3 to 20 second exposures, but anytime I went past 8 seconds I started getting light trails on the bright side.



I wish I had used the 20D + 1.4TC and 400mm, but I only had the 400mm and 1D on hand. Things like these make's one wish for a longer lens.

thats not bad. its hot at the bottom but the other other 3/4 of the moon are pretty clear.

Thanks, it is supposed to be hot at the bottom - or else it wouldn't be an eclipse.

I wanted to get some great shots over the Washington Monument, but too many clouds. Last night there was a spectacular moon over it. I ran to get the camera and the battery was low. Maybe tonight?? Grrrr...

We were out doing some night time bouldering and saw the eclipse, cool stuff!!!
