Default Nikon School

Nikon School is hosting two seminars in my area:
http://www.nikonusa.com/Learn-And-Explore/...mailschool09wdc

Day 1: "Introduction to Digital SLR Photograhy"
Day 2: "Next Steps: Color, Light, Technology"

Has anyone attended any of Nikon's sessions? At $280 both days, they are exactly cheap. Before I spend $300 in a class (or I could put that away towards my 16-85 lens), I would like to see your opinions.

Thanks in advance!

Oh BTW, they are actually on weekends!

it will completely depend on your level. $280 for both class is cheap so it might be worth for beginner/novice user.

but if you understand the equipment, light, & shadow, why would you spend any money on any class, right?

If you can absorb a ton of stuff thrown at you rapid fire style than go for it, if you forget easily save your cash. These "schools" go at a frantic pace and they dont stop and wait for you.

My 2 cents.

If you are interested in instructor lead, but more casual instruction check these out: http://www.washingtonphotosafari.com/ I've been on several, and have gotten some of the other locals interested, too. It's always a good time.

I've been to both and they are very fast paced. Not even time to take good notes!

I went to the Day 1 only. I wished they had camera specific classes (I had a Nikon Coolpix 5700 at the time) but I did get something out of it and am glad I went, although I do now just buy camera specific books from Barnes and Noble.
