Taken with Nikon D40, not sure of setting. I done a crop job and thats about it. Any thoughts?

Looks like the round-up is not working on the weed problem. Try using a more concentrated mixture...

To be honest, there's nothing breathtaking about it.

Its a tree against a brick wall. What's the theme of the picture? Isolation? Ruggedness? I guess there's just not enough contrast between the wall and the tree to make anything stand out. Sure the wall is sorta painted white, but with orange still showing, my eyes revert back to what a standard brick wall is supposed to look like - orange. And given that, the tree just blends in with the back ground.

Anyway... I generally agree with what's been said. Do something to make it a little more interesting... find what the idea behind the picture is and then take it a step further. It would be neat if you could essentially hide the plant in the picture... and by this I mean, for example "Seven" would make the plant ghost white and blend with the wall a bit more... that might be interesting. Of course, that might not also be the commentary you're trying to get at.

Basically: Take it a step further, make it stand out.
