Here's one not like the others.
This insect is about 1.8mm long, in a piece of Baltic amber that dates about 40 million years old. That's even older than I am; to visualize it, imagine 1-mm equals one year, a full trip around the sun. 75mm, about 3" for us Americans, would represent about the average human lifetime. 40 million would be 40km, about 24 miles. It's been exactly like this, all this time. I don't know whether it will be visible here, but the compound eyes and cell structure in the wings are easily visible on my monitor.
Now back to regularly scheduled S2K. My AP2 really wants to make a run to the coast!
Cheers,
Joe
