Thumbs up Photoshop Question

I was wondering if anyone can help or point me in the right direction on the Photography forum, Ok heres my question. I need to know how i can change the color on an object for example i wanna photoshop my car in a different color but dont want to lose the glare and shine on the car itself from the light, reflection and etcc..., know what i mean?

Any help is greatly appreciated

What version of Photoshop are you using? There are a few different ways to do it, but it depends on the version.

This was done with masks and "Replace Color" under adjustments. Sorry about the content


There is a replace color brush in some versions, but it seems to work best in CS2 & CS3 compared to CS. It doesn't exist in 7. You can use selective color for slight changes. You can make a duplicate layer, mask/cut the background, and do all sorts of overlay adjustments. You can play in channels. I can go on and on - the version you have, and I should have mentioned the image you're changing effect which method will be best.

Sorry i forgot to mention it. Im Working on Photshop CS Version 8.0
