Picked up a brand new Mark II for $ 1,600.00 the Mark III isn't worth its price over a Mark II. Neither is the Canon 6D

I just bought a D600 and it should be here tomorrow! I'll let you guys know what I think about it (coming from Canon and a t2i).

I was going to pick up the Tamron 24-70 as a first lens, but then in a fit of prime fixation last night I decided to get both the 50mm 1.8G and 105mm Micro VR as my first two Nikon lenses. Hope I don't regret either of them.

I'm a canon whore, but I'd say D800 solely cause it's newer than the mark II, but really, you should get the mark III

 

No thanks Nikon. Used it, and do not like it. Those pictures are ridiculously large file sizes @ 36mp. Doesn't do video as good as Canon. Mark II with MagicLantern is perfect. Mark 3 barely improved on the Mark 222222222. Lot's of reviewers said its price doesn't justify it.

 

I can agree on not liking the Nikon cameras, a few friends have them and using them is just a chore locating all the buttons to change settings.

as far as the mark III goes, I occasionally do weddings so for it to get the new AF point upgrade was heaven to my ears. alas, I am car poor so I'm still rocking my Classic.
