I also use CS2. I started using RAW since you guys keep recommending it. Now when I pp my pictures, my time is cut nearly in half of what I usually do and I can recover most of what could've been a bad picture using jpegs.

Lightroom....

You can download a 30-day trial and its $199 for a limited time. Orr.... the more savvy internet users can find it waayyy cheaper. My boss justified a copy for me because we shoot at company events.

Yup, just double checked... they are .CR2 files, and CS2 won't open them, says wrong type of file

Download the latest update files from Adobe and isntall the Camera RAW pluging... Restart computer, and it will work.

Guys... If you open your files in RAW and then convert to TIFF or Jpeg to edit, you are defeating the purpose of RAW itself. Edit "IN" RAW and save final result as a TIFF

PITA is spot-on but so far Nikon View's conversion is best for me. Adobe's is no slouch (not the base plug-in) but when the chips are down I get a touch more from Nikon's D-Light than Adobe's shadow recovery.

I get auto updates from Adobe, presume they should cover it. Where do i get the Camera RAW plugin?
