Thanks. I like a desaturated photo (like I have above) way more than selective coloring (which you mentioned). Selective coloring can work but in most photos, you need to lower the saturation of the color you've left in the photo so that it's more muted and blends more nicely. I agree that it's generally overdone and fairly gimmicky.
