I tried to photograph a vortex inside a mixer. C&C welcome.

Here is the setup of an early attempt.



The setup this time wasn't that different. For this shot I used the light source from a side and not from the top.

Fill the mixer with water, add some blue food coloring and you are good to go.

whats the spec. on the lens you used
It's Sigma 18-50, F2.8 EX DC Macro.
It is a good lens but there is some distortion
when used closed to 18mm. Things are good If it is kept away from that focal length.

And the camera is a Fuji S3.
