2010/2011 ASA Winter-x #1 (Nov. 7, 2010)
2010 ASA Winter Event #1 - Edmonton, Namao - Sunday November 7th
IMPORTANT! For those registering as ASN-FIA Affiliated Members - you will be required to produce a membership card or other proof of membership from your affiliated club at event registration in order to confirm your discounted entry fee. If you cannot produce your membership card you will be required to pay the $10.00 difference between the member/non-member rates at event registration.

Event Info: The Alberta Solo Association is hosting Event #1 of our winter autoslalom calendar at Namao, Sunday, November 7th. This will be a competitive timed event and drivers will get a minimum four timed runs.
This event will count for points in a Winter Championship.
When: Sunday November 7th @ 8:30am.
Registration/Tech opens at 8:30am and closes at 9:45am sharp.
Driver's meeting 10:00am
First car out around 10:30am.
Where: Namao airbase. Directions to get to the event (drivers and cars must be on security list before registration closes to enter the base. If you cannot register via Karelo and need to be added to the security list, please PM me your name, car make, model, colour, year, VIN, license plate number, province, and guest names and vehicle details:
* North on 97 Street to leave the city on Hwy 28.
* Take the "Edmonton Garrison" exit and continue north.
* Turn right at Churchill Avenue which brings you to the first checkpoint.
* Stop at the checkpoint and tell the guard you are here for the autoslalom event with the ASA club (they might ask for your driver's licence or ID).
* Head east on Churchill Avenue until you get to Ortona Road.
* Left (north) on Ortona Road until right (east) on Vimy Avenue.
* Continue east until the second checkpoint.
* Park outside the guardhouse and sign in with the on duty guard (Photo ID required).
* Enter the airstrip one the guards open the gates and process to event, and please obey speed limits!
Cost: $15 for ASA or ASN affiliated members, $25 for non-members (includes the cost of a day membership).

No-one interested?
It's auto-x, but there's none of the usual classes just straight-up RAW time!
If you're still running your s2k on winters or all seasons then come on out! If you've got a moderately fun winter beater then come get to know it better!

C'mon Grant -- you know I'll be there if the highway is safe enough for the trip.
Jo has the Civic, so it's going to be the S2000. No all-seasons, so it's Star Specs or winters.

On the downside, they have zero grip on ice or snow. I was able to easily push my car sideways last year when they got onto a patch of ice
So, the odds are high that I will be running winter tires at next week's event. Slow and sloppy, but fun.

Check the forecast people!
It looks like Summer tires, or even R's might be king!
It might be our first Winter-X, but that's only 'cause we don't run a "fall-x" series.
