Default 350Z in Sask.

Yesterday, I visited our city's Nissan dealership to see the 350Z. It turns out that this 'track' model was bought by someone I know! The paperwork was done up today. He is coming by tommorow so that we can go for a cruise. You Albertans will be seeing this 350Z in Calgary since he works there and will be heading back this weekend.

The salesmen thought I was giving up my S for the new 350Z but I told them NO! The 350Z is nice but I still like the S better.

Here is a quick pic:

Hehe...seems very few of us actually would trade our S's for the new Z. And a good thing in that.

Anyone we know buy the car in the picture?

Get some pics on the cruise, it would be nice to see both cars side by side. Who says 350Z and S owners can't get along

I just got back from a short cruise with my friend in his Track model 350Z. We did not go very far and he did not drive it very hard. I think he wants to break it in first. He told me his manual said break-in is 1500 Km.

Some observations:
1. Silverstone looked a bit lighter than our silverstone (although its been months since I last saw a Silverstone S)
2. Windows suck up to seal, very much like my E36 M3 (and all other E36 3 series )
3. Clutch seemed a bit heavy than than the S
3. Shifts are short , maybe as short as the S? but I still like the feel of the S shifting.
4. Nifty computer gives you variables such as mileage, temp., tire pressures, etc.
5. Doors are Heavy compared to the S, the whole car is heavier
6. HID's are nice but cut off (line of light) did not seem as sharp as the S.
7. Very throaty exhaust note
8. Torquey engine
9. Street appeal-lots of when we drove around. Seeing as this is the first Z in the city, it should get the stares!
10. Seats are nice and supportive-the drivers seat is even more contoured and supportive than the passenger's

I could go on but its getting late. Overall, I think this track model is very nice and you get a lot of nifty details for your money. However, I would NOT give up my S for a Z!

By the way, I did not drive the car and only sat as the passenger. I left my S at home. I suspect my S may steal a few stares if I followed it

It was 9:00pm with poor lighting so no pictures. Perry will be back in a couple of weeks so I hope to get some pictures then.

Later

yea I was down at the dealership today and the guy showed me lots of stuff about the 350z and even tried to get me to trade in my S for one. Although it is tempting, I'll stick to my investment. Its well worth the money and until I actually gun it with one, I'll assume our cars are faster hahah. Anyways, lucky you Louie to have sat in one, it looks a lot more confortable than a S

i've been to the nissan dealership a couple of times and i really do like the look of the new 350Z...it's a beautiful looking car...i showed it to my sister today and she is in love with it...eventually she will buy one...i'm just telling her to hold off and check out the convertable that will be coming next year and possibly a turbo...it also doesn't hurt to wait to let Nissan work all of the first year production bugs out

as for the S2000...i'm keeping it!...eventually buy a hard top too

You should get in touch with Hellspire, OnTheGo and Former about the hardtop. See how your timing fits in with theirs. You could get one the dealers to maybe do a group buy on a bunch of them.
