more on the 350z
Was kinda bored today so decided to drop by a Nissan dealership here in Edmonton to check the 350z out. To start off briefly, unfortunately someone took delivery of an orange color (le mans sunset is the name) track model couple hours before i got there. So there were none for me to see.
Anyhow, I pulled into the parking lot of the dealership and I noticed a few of the salesperson were looking at me from the inside. One came out and said nice car and started checking out my car inside and out. He asked me if there's anything he can help me with. When I mentioned I want to take a look at the 350z, I could tell that his eyes has "$" in them. He asked "thinking of buying one?". I go "maybe" He goes "ah you come to the right place, come on in and let's sit down and talk"
He gave me a brochure, a photocopy of the Car and Driver test drive of the 350z article, and a sheet which list the prices and specs of all 3 models of the 350z. He told me he has 12 people on the waiting list now at the dealership. He mentioned htat if I were to sign the papers today, I'd get one in May
Long time I thought. I asked him about the availbility of the convertible version. He said sometime in March.
He told me that they are expecting to get a track model one sometime in the new week for demo/test drive purposes. He asked me for my contact # and I gave it to him. He said since I look serious
and I have a car to back that up
, he said he'll give me a call to schedule for a test drive
I left the brochure, etc at my gf's house
but this is what i remembered:
MSRP of the track model (it's the top end model with 18" forged wheels, brembo brakes, etc.) is $46500. Yup, cheaper than msrp of an S.: But it's 3300 lbs or something. redline at 6700 rpm which is damn low.
He did mentioned there is a black one at this another particular nissan dealership in edmonton but they gouge the asking price up to $59000

Wonder if that's WestEnd Nissan that's gouging for that. The owner of the dealership took that one home for the weekend if it's the same one.
There's a black track model sitting in the showroom of W.E.N. right now.
