Yep..I have been to raves on occasion...but not because I wanted to.....LOL

I came up with the idea for the plate when I had my Prelude. I wanted something different..something no one would figure out. I gathered that ecstasy gives its users a "rush" just as VTEC gives drivers a "rush" Not that I have ever used an elicit drug Seemed fitting thats all.

Other than when I met up with some of the Calgary owners last Friday evening, I saw just 1 other S2000 in my 3500km's around Alberta / BC over the last 2 weeks - Silverstone, roof up, Alberta reg. 'DOC ZZZ' in Canmore on 20th August

I never twigged onto it when you first mentioned this to me but now that I see it in print, I've seen this plate before. I think this plate belongs to a doctor who specializes in sleep disorders and runs a sleep clinic in south Calgary. He takes this plate from one car to another. I have a vague memory that one of his last cars was a luxury car (perhaps German). Very interesting that he owns an S2000.

At the risk of taking this thread 'off-topic' what is the deal in Canada with 'personalised' plates - do you have to pay extra for the plates (it is a major industry in the UK, with especially prized plates selling for tens of thousands of pounds (believe it or not!!) or can you have any combination of digits not yet assigned?
We use the term "Vanity Plates". They cost about $160.00 to buy and then you must transfer your cars registration to that plate (for the usual cost). We can have any combination of letters and numbers and spaces that don't exceed 7 spaces. You will be denied if your combination is deemed "offensive". You can also keep this plate unregistered (ie, just sitting in your home) for about 5 years before someone else can take that combination. I'm not sure if one can sell a plate to another person. I've not heard of such a thing so I think a plate belongs to the owner indefinately.

Hmmmmm......this seems like a much better (cheaper!!) system than the UK - the 'cheapest' plates are

RR1 =Rolls Royce 1?

I recall the frenzy about personalized plates in the UK. My folks purchased one from a magazine for 65 GBP. It read "800 EXP" Nothing spectacular, but a personalized plate nonetheless. Next when they purchased their, at the time new "J" plate Ford Orion, there was an Aug 1 sale on personalized plates when they paid something ridiculous like 150GBP for
J123 AAA.

Its just a game. Ian, you're right, the "vanity" plate system in North America is much better.
