Hey trunger, what do you think of the new 1 series?

My dad has been looking into buying a new bimmer.

He thinks the 335i is too big of a car, but he likes the twin turbo engine, so maybe the 135 is a good alternative. He test drove one at bavaria and seems to like it.

Any comments on the 135i?

^ i agree. the 335 is a much better looking car. my dad actually has one. he lvoes it. its a 2008 alpine white. and they look sick when you start modding them. dinan makes great products!!! and there incredibly fast if you get the dinan boost upgrade. they are so down tuned from the factory. with the upgrade it gives you like 395 or 400 or something like that on 8 pounds. sick car.

i prefer the 335i a lot,
reason being , its not that much more and the weight is nearly the same.

and its not a bigger car..

the sti is bigger then both of those cars..

but too be honset, i actually prefer to get a m3, over anything the price is very very near a 335xi, only if you get the base m3, which still has everything..

Don't worry the car is not for me so i won't take any offence.

But actually the 135i is indeed quicker, it has the exact same engine as the 335i but on a lighter platform so obviously it's gonna be a little faster.

I think the m3 is a little too high strung for my dad.

He's also considering an is350, or g35/g37 along with the 135i.

if a 335 is a little too big, the IS350 in my eyes would probably be huge then! maybe not though because i havent ridden in a is350, but i have been in a chipped 335i and those things are very nice

^ Yeah I dunno he's pretty picky. He thinks the is350 is kinda big too but he really likes the look of it. Most new cars are getting bigger though so you can't really avoid that too much.

This whole discussion has evolved from a Subaru as "the beater" to BMW and Lexus.

If I wasn't familiar with this thread and see BMW and Lexus in the mix then most of
you are really doing very well in your own respective livelihood. But then I see that the latest posters are researching for their parents - you folks are lucky to have well to do
parents.
