I just recieved it and im wondering if I could make any mods to it so that I can direct cold air to the airbox? I think xviper has a homemade part like this which he has an extension from the airbox to the front air dam?
XViper recently helped me install a Mingster Carbon snorkel which extends from the airbox to the front bumper. He was even so kind as to give me a used rad cover which he had already cut out to accomodate the snorkel. The snorkel fits well, and I'm guessing that by design, it is very functional as well. That aside, if you ever wish to return things back to stock, it is not overly difficult either, taking only about an hour.
Kudos to Xviper and also UtahS2k who originally gave Xviper the Snorkel.
Thanks guys.

let me know too, i have one months ago and couldn't get my hood to close, another member told me to drop the hood higher, forget that, and then someone else told me it was a desing flaw, let me know how your's go, i'm thinking that we might have to remove the radiator panel
There is no need to remove the bumper. The slanted air guide has 2 different kinds of fasteners. Both kinds are those that you either unscrew the centers or pry out the centers with a small flat screwdriver. Once the centers are out, the remaining part of the fastener can be pulled out. There are 4 that you can see that holds the top of the airguide onto the rad support. The other 4 hold the front of the airguide onto the cross member under the bumper lip. You need to use a light and bend down to see it from a severe angle. These 4 you almost have to remove by "feel". Once you have the 8 fasteners out, you need to mark the positioning of the hood release mechanism with some masking tape that runs across the edge of the mechanism and the rad support. You slice the tape at the edge of the mechanism and this is used later to help you judge the placement of the hood release back to approximately where it needs to be tightened. If your hood does not close they way if used to, then loosen the hodd release and move the whole mechanism up very slightly till the hood does close. Repeat if necessary. This adjustment is extremely minor.
Once you have the airguide out (you need to "compress" it a bit to help it out), you can either leave it out or you can cut one side of it to let the snorkel get through. A new one cost me about $75.00 Can. (so maybe $40.00 US).
Thanks xviper!!!!!....I'll try that out! So u have to remove those 4 that u cant see, by feel? with your fingernails or with a flat head screwdriver to pry out the center?
bshigeta, I hope what u say isnt correct! Did u have any problems fitting the piece into place? I had quite the time getting it to fit, and when I did....the hood latch would rest against the center opening edge so the hood wouldnt close!
Perfect....I'll bring along the tools needed, Gary unless u got them handy in your car somewhere?....I'll also bring the heat shield....I got some parts alittle scratched up already though cuz i was fighting to get it in
xviper, I had my head against the radiator beam ...lol..and yeah...i could see the screws....but I still am having problems prying it open....i'll give it another shot tommorow ...if not...I guess Thursday. Thanks for all the help, big guy!
