Default Driving during hot days

Yesterday 30C or so here
29C today..

U guys noticed that the car feels really sluggish during those hot days? Especially the shifter, feels notchier. Engine doesn't bog anymore when going from a stop because of the CAI. When I had the stock intake, the engine was breathing in hot air.

On my way to work in the rush hour morning (ONLY time i put the top down when days are hot), car feels so much better

Go to www.weatheroffice.com, click on the Calgary weather and pay attention to each days' air pressure. Changes in pressure affect power more than temperature. You can get more power on a hot day with high pressure, than a cool day with low pressure.

Our pressure normally varies from 99.5kpa to 102.5kpa (there are a few rare days that go past this range). That's a range of about 8hp on a 240hp car at 3375ft elevation on average conditions.

As for temperature, a change from say, 20C to 30C, is only a 5hp difference on a 240hp car at 3375ft elevation.

The best days are days like today. Cool and high air pressure. Great day for secret street with very fast times .

34C, the S works fine, no bogging here, even with A/C on. Perhaps the snorkel had something to do with it.

Seks, you need a "snorkel" (hundreds of dollars) or a radmat (a few dollars).

He has the AEM CAI already, shouldn't bog too much.
Seks, you need a S/C then, that will get rid of the bog

You're right, he shouldn't be bogging at all unless he's running constantly in stop and go traffic and is mostly STOPPED. Even still, the oppressive heat should only rob your car of about 5-10hp.
